Its depends on the system you wanna use, most old sega systems just used phillips screws, but some nintendo consoles use whats called a "triwing screwdriver" they cost about 3 dollars on ebay, also a few systems use a special hex head tool that is also 3 dollars or so on ebay, other than that i would recommend a glue gun (10 dollars) and a cheap soldering iron. Some electronics use tiny screwdrivers so I always try to keep one of those kits for repairing glasses on hand. If you decided to really cusomize the case you might wanna get some epoxy eg(jb weld) and a bit of sandpaper (the bigger the number on the grit the finer the sand paper is.) Its doesnt require anything too expensive or specialty tools, I think my whole handheld build cost under 100 and my gamecube was like 70.

oh wow that's awesome..!!
I have really no idea what console I'd wanna go for.. I've never really thought about it much before to tell the truth XD
I grew up with a PC and never owned a console - not until I got a PS1 - just before the PS2 got released lol

I am already planning to add more desk space, and I recently bought some new soldering stations and such to help me fix stuff faster. In about 5 hours today I fixed 3 gameboys, 6 gamegears, and even installed custom firmware on a psp. I figure the more space i have the more stuff i can do at once lol. Really wierd seeing nintendo stuff on a psp. Also managed to repair a synthesizer for a friend. ( I always love working on stuff i haven't worked on before.) As usual if anyone wants to do any of these sort of things i would be more than happy to help.

Ahhh I shoulda got pics! It was a MPC, it looked kinda like a rack mount system but I only had one rack. Just a simple fix, the little backup battery had died and those are soldered in. I took the old battery out and added a little clip to make the battery replaceable. Hmm I may pick up a tube guitar amp and electric guitar to work on today and if I do ill be sure to add pics!

Just word of mouth, My wife and brother in law work for google so they know quite a few people into videogames, Also I buy entire lots of broken consoles on ebay, Fix em and sell them back on ebay. The psp is really cool but its already sold. I am seriously considering getting one for me lol. I also worked at a pc repair company for a few years so basically everyone know knows me seems to know I fix junk lol.
