Hello,
Welcome to our forums. We are a community centered around the fangame AETHER ONLINE. We would just like to take a second to thank you for stopping in and seeing what we are all about.
AETHER ONLINE is a fanmade retro 2d MMORPG. It was created by a small team of dedicated hobbyists who are in the process of learning to make online rpgs. We have poured alot of time and passion into the game and look forward to sharing it with you in our testing.
In Aether Online you assume the role of a citizen of "Aether", a world similar to Earth but far stranger in countless ways. You wake up on the beach with amnesia as many others seem to be. You must find your way in this strange world as you encounter monsters, quests, stories and more. There are 6 classes to choose from upon reaching the proper level including Brawlers, Red Mages, Light Mages, Dark Mages, Rangers, and Rogues. There are also 2 hidden classes for those who can figure out how to decipher them.
Many are curious as to when the game will be available. Right now we are looking at alpha testing, that is what is on the plate at first. We are hoping to do this sometime this spring. There will be news posted when we have a date. Thank you for your interest in being one of the first to try out our game.
The main goal with AETHER ONLINE is to provide a small community based game that shares a virtual world much akin to older late 1990s MMORPGs. It uses familiar combat and tradeskill/crafting systems that would be found in those genre of games and also has an endgame progression scene as well. The small community size allows for a different type of gaming then the large corporate MMORPGs with hundreds of thousands of players.
Aether Online is provided free to players. Since we are a small community we do not have the larger server maintenance costs that a large company would have. Thus we are able to take care of server costs in-house and not have to worry about adding a monetization system to the game.
We look forward to sharing our project with the players and having some nostalgic retro times! Please stay tuned for more media, news and updates!
Regards,
Aeth Team
